In 2007 she was diagnosed with Schizo-Affective Disorder and needed several hospital stays before she was able to be treated at home. Not only was she unwell, but she also felt hopeless. Life became about surviving from one day to the next. Today, things are very different. She is no longer on a cocktail of medication and no longer held in chains by her mental illness.
